The Student Union of ÅAU’s (ÅAS) Student Union Council has on their meeting on 1 December 2022, elected a new Presidium for the Student Union Council, a new Student Union Board, and a new Chair for the Financial Board. Furthermore, were a Member and an Expert Member for the Financial Board elected.
Nicolina Nordman, a 24-year-old student in Social Sciences, was elected as the Chair of the Board 2023. Nordman has been active in the subject association SF-Klubben, been a member of the Student Union Council and a student representative in the Faculty Council for the Faculty of Social Sciences, Business and Economics.
Nordman writes in her application that she thinks it is extremely important that ÅAS makes the students’ voice heard because of the Parliamentary Elections and Åbo Akademi University’s property plan. Norman also wants to concentrate on the students’ well-being and increase ÅAS visibility in social media.
The Vice-Chair 2023 is Kajsa Viitamäki and the other Board Members are Pernilla Bagge, Vanessa Björklund, Leia Boullenger, Amanda Byskata, Casimir Ruohomaa and Lina Sjöberg. Bagge, Björklund and Sjöberg are going to work in Vasa, and Boullenger, Byskata, Ruohomaa and Viitamäki in Åbo.
New Presidium, and new Chair, Expert Member and Member of the Financial Board
The new Chair of the Student Union Council is Ines Latvala (De Rättvisa), the first Vice-Chair is Jonne Kunnas (FNT-listan), and the second Vice-Chair is Herman Björk (Gemensamma Vasa).
Samuel Skrifvars was elected as the Chair of the Financial Board. Rasmus Kupi was elected as a Member and Robert Wetterstein as an Expert Member of the Financial Board.
